full name Haku Yukiko (written with the characters of snow and child)
nicknames Flower Maiden, Pretty boy, and quite a few colorful names back from where he used to live (though those don’t count, right?)
age 18, January 9th
gender Although he’s unsure at times (as well as most of the general public), biologically he is a boy.
sexuality He’s openly bisexual, though he leans more towards the pretty boys, oh yes.
occupation Year 12
He also has taken a part time job as a host in one of the more popular cafes (and as a female, no less), though, he’d rather keep his job a secret from his friends. The last thing he wants is to have them show up at his work and get him fired!

Physical Appearance
Haku stands at a threatening 5’1’ and weighs a full 95 pounds. Yup, a real tank. Haku’s strikingly feminine features have always had a way of shining through, even when he truly tried to look “manly” (each and every one of those three times). While most other boys his age sprouted up during middle school, Haku barely grew, stopping an inch over five feet. While not life-threatening, he also is a bit underweight, though he doesn’t seem to mind (one could argue he prefers it that way). His face is unusually round for a boy, and has the facial features most commonly desired by women (that luck bastard). His skin is a nice shade of porcelain, matching ever so well with the new-fallen snow. His eyes, in contrast, are a very dark shade of brown and have been mistaken for black on several occasions. His eyelashes are unusually long, even before he applies the mascara. His lips have a slight pink tint to them, though just barely. His long, chocolate brown hair is also often seen either half tied up in a bun with two large strands of hair on either side of his face, or he’ll let it flow down. At school it will more or less always be tied up in the bun, however (he’d gotten in a bit too much trouble at his old school for the length of his hair). From time to time he’ll accessorize his bangs with such items as buttons, beads, feathers, and hair-doylies, which he’ll hang near the bottom of the strands.
Haku has a very light build, with almost no muscle to show. Admittedly he’s not extremely strong; though he’s not so weak he can’t open a new jar of jam (though that may take a try or two). He’s very slender arms and legs, as well as very little body fat. When not in the usual boy’s school uniform (although he believes he’d look better in the girl’s uniform), he can often be seen in a variety of fabulous outfits. His favorite of these outfits is (surprisingly) his simple, pink dress with the cute purple pattern. He has also been known to pimp out his nails on occasion, his skills rivaling that of many teenage girls.
Personality
Haku is a very…interesting little flower. Although on the exterior he seems like a fragile white lily, he has the thorns of a rose if you’re to cross him the wrong way. For the most part, Haku can be seen as the usual flamboyant young man who loves nothing more than to doll up and make everything he touches absolutely fabulous, daaaarling. He can often be seen with a pleasant smile plastered on his face (frowning will cause wrinkles, didn’t you know?) and will not hesitate to chat it up with just about anyone who will listen to his endless jabber (and many who are not willing to as well). Talk to the boy about hair and makeup, and you’ve got yourself an endless fountain of useless information on your hands. He’s also very keen on helping those out around him, though not usually in the normal sense of helping. For Haku, helping would be giving a full makeover to whomever he’s set his eyes on. This doesn’t mean, however, that he’s unable to stray from the joys of frills, skirts, and pastel colors. He can focus when needed and has even helped out a few friends here and there.
Speaking of friends, Haku takes relationships of all kinds extremely seriously. Although he’s willing to joke around a bit (especially early on when others believe him to be a female), Haku will not falter when it comes to how dedicated he is to his friends. He’s the type that would give anything for those close to him, which could cause some trouble for him, though his belief that others come first is extremely close to his sweet, little heart. In the past he’s been taken advantage of for his generosity, though even after he found out he was being used, Haku would just smile and claim there was a reason for what they did and deep down they were all really close. Needless to say, he was taken advantage of quite a bit because of this.
In the classroom he can often be found working hard, though rarely on his class work. He’d much rather pass his time in a more enjoyable fashion such as drawing up clothing he knows would look fabulous, reading, or playing his age-old game boy color (the epic pink one, at that). He does, however, hold his education somewhat highly, and is sure to at least fill in the answers (not minding at all if he’d docked down a few points as long as he ends up with a passing grade).
Strengths
Courageous “Ohhh, this is pretty~”
Not many young men are quite courageous enough to doll up the way Haku is. Although he’ll pass it off as nothing, the young man truly has a great deal of courage not just with the way he dresses, but with the way he thinks, acts, and strides through life.
Friend For Life ”We’re friends! Best of friends!”
Once you have Haku as a friend, it takes a whole lot to change that fact. Through thick and thin, there’s no one more dedicated to friendship as Haku. One of Haku’s favorite lines from a movie would have to be “I am dedicated to this thing called friendship, and I will NOT back down.”
Loyal ”What are friends for? ♥”
No one person has your back quite like Haku does. He’s sure to trust all his friends, even if no one else believes them. With a smile and a pat on the back, Haku’s sure to believe you.
Not Judgemental “How interesting~”
Everyone has a story and Haku understands that perhaps better than anyone. After hopping through so many schools, meeting so many people, watching his guardian, and making so many friends, he’s learned no two people are quite alike and everyone’s story is different. Even if a person has a troubled past, there’s a good chance Haku will understand. Being a target for judgement and bullying himself, Haku understands the hardships one may have to endure, and he’d hate more than anything to cause grief over something as simple as looks or sexual orientation.
Flaws
Blind ”Flaws? What flaws?”
On the negative of being a friend for life and loyal like no other, Haku becomes more or less blind to the flaws of those around him. Have a slight drug addiction? Naw, it’s probably nothing. What? You killed a man? Probably out of self defense.
Easily Discouraged ‘Did you say…my nails look bad…?’
He’s not one to take criticism well. When the poor boy becomes discouraged, it can last anywhere from ten looong minutes of sulking to weeks, or a month. Haku tries his hand at staying positive, though all those little pokes and prods can really add up over time and cause some sleepless nights for him.
Follower ”If…you said it’s alright…”
Like a lamb being led to its slaughter, Haku will follow over lead nine out of every ten times. Even if he thinks something isn’t a good idea, with enough poking and prodding he’ll most likely give in.
Fashionable “Sorry, I was distracted…”
Both a positive and a negative for the young man is his love of fashion. On the positive side he always has a keen eye for what’s hot and what’s not. On the negative, he’s always bringing up his love for fashion to all those around him. Although he loves his friends dearly, Haku has a bad habit of getting distracted easily…especially when it comes to clothing. Not as common in class, though outside the school grounds he’s always poking and prodding at his friends, asking them to try on different clothing he’s positive will look simply gorgeous. You’re taking the bus to Shibuya? Pulling that young man out of the giant 109 building will be harder than keeping an alcoholic from drinking in a room full of free booze.
Drink? “I’ll pass.”
Smoke? “Errr, no.”
Drive? He has a beaten down white (or at least, it was at one point) toy truck he’ll drive from time to time. Although it doesn’t look like it can run, the thing is decent enough (even if it isn’t much to gawk at) and even has a working air conditioner and automatic windows. He has, also, pimped out the inside of the truck with a cute, little plush fox (which he named Kyukyu) he hangs from the rearview mirror as well as a sicker of a Hawaiian flower on the back window.
Drugs? “No thanks...”
Partying? “…What time?”
Family
Tsukiko Yukiko: Deceased
A wonderful, strong woman, from what Haku can recall. She and Haku would always play in the snow together, read stories, and bake. She’d dress him up in dresses, much to Tamaki’s displeasure, though it was all in good fun.
Tamaki Yukiko: Deceased
Haku can’t remember anything about his father other than his smile. It was warm, though something that seemed deeply unsettling about it. Almost…distant…
Zabuza Momochi: Legal Guardian
{I’d love to go further into this, though I’m not sure I should in case someone who wants Zabuza comes and is tied down with the history I put down.}
Residence Haku lives with his guardian on the second floor of Zabuza’s very shady business (though it brings in enough money for them to live comfortably, so he’s not complaining). The first floor is the main business area while the second floor is split into two small bedrooms, a bathroom, and a decent-sized kitchen/dining area. Haku’s room, although not large, is very fabulous (according to him). The view, although not much, is accented with a small collection of seasonal flowers. The four tiny walls were painted a flavorful shade of blue, with a purple accent on one wall. His small closet is stuffed to the brim with clothing of all shapes, sizes, and colors. His accessories are hung on the walls, stashed away in his small dresser (where more clothes are also lingering), on the floor, and hanging with his plants. He has a small desk filled with different fashion magazines and books. He also shares his room with four little birds, which reside in a decently-sized cage next to the window. (Momo, the blue one, Zabimaru, the brown and white speckled one, Mr. Tweetums the yellow one, and Zabu-chan, the talkative green one)
History
Hokkaido, the cold winter, and a loving family. Haku was born into a small family of farmers where he lived happily for four years. While his father worked hard on the land, trying to prepare before the winter season, Haku and his mother would clean and play around the house. Every winter season the three of them would play in the snow and make angels. They were truly happy. Until one night…
“Tragedy struck late this evening when a double homicide took place in the home of the Yukiko’s. The perpetrator is still at large”
“Mom…? Dad?” There was something wrong that morning. Haku’s parents never woke up later than he did. He didn’t think too much of it, though. What child that age does? The young boy wandered off to the kitchen, pulling a small snack out of the pantry. Nothing like a sugary snack in the morning before his parents could scold him. He laughed to himself, opening up a double back of snowballs. How could his mom be mad if he brought one to her, as well? Haku’s little feet pulled him through the house to his parent’s room. He reached up to the door and struggled with the door, as every small child does. “Mom! Time ‘ta wake up.” Haku’s morning greeting was booming, as he found his way into a scene no child should ever have to witness.
After the police eventually can and questioned Haku on the unfortunate scene, he was sent off to live with someone he’d never met with, though his parents had apparently known. His name: Zabuza Momochi. Although not the most caring guardian, he did keep the boy from the orphanage. There was something about the man…a hidden soft side…though it took Haku a while to notice. The first year together was a bit strained, though the two slowly bonded. The hole left from his parents was eventually filled by his new guardian. Although not bonded by blood, the two boys were able to click, even through Zabuza’s barrier he puts up. Although it took quite some time, Zabuza somewhat opened up to Haku, which made the young boy smile.
The two traveled throughout different parts of Japan, never quite settling down for an extended amount of time. Haku went through many different sets of friends, hardships, and houses. Around fourth grade, Haku also noticed something. He was…not quite the same as the other kids. Not different as in special, though he wasn’t quite the same. Rather than play in the dirt and run around like the other boys, Haku found it more fun to play dress up and hang out with the other girls. He also noticed that he preferred his hair longer, never listening to Zabuza when he said it was time for Haku to get a haircut (he hated getting his hair cut more than an inch). By seventh grade, Haku was very confused. He had a tough time fitting in, and decided to wear a dress to school one day (that school had no dress code). Little did the young man realize this would cause an uproar that eventually led to him being sent home early as well as a phone call from the principal to Zabuza about young men not being allowed to wear dresses. Zabuza threw a fit arguing it doesn’t matter about what a young man wears as long as he is comfortable and isn’t indecent exposure, and eventually the matter was settled…Haku was to change schools.
Not long after that, the two men traveled to a different part of Japan. Although Zabuza wouldn’t admit it, the two moved away because of the happening at the school. Another school, a different strategy. Zabuza was kind enough to allow Haku to buy any dress he wanted. The first day of class, Haku waltzed in with the dress, a bit of make-up, and his nails done. No students said a word, figuring he was just a very pretty girl. This made Haku happy, though eventually everyone would figure it out…It was only a matter of time…
“Haku, will, will you go out with me…?” A squeaky 7th grader asked, his cheeks resembling a tomato. Haku was taken back, unsure of how to answer. “I’m not sure you’d care to go out with me…” He smirked, “Though I am pleased you asked me.” The young man was crushed as Haku walked away from him. A delicate flower just out of his reach. Then it happened again with a different young man. Then another. Than another…This had to stop. “Haku, will you go out wi-“ Haku stopped the young man, smiling, “I’m a boy”
Word traveled fast, though Haku was taken aback that there were those who actually stood by his side, even after knowing he was a boy (most all girls, but still…). Ridiculed by many, Haku was subject to a bit of bullying and pranks, though he had a few very good friends that stood with him, not caring whether or not he was a boy or a girl. He was Haku, and that was more than swell enough for them. Haku stayed at that school until 9th grade, when Zabuza decided it was time to move on once again. With a heavy heart, he and Zabuza moved again, though he’d kept in contact with a few of his friends from that time.
Another three schools before the two of them settled down in the trashier part of Tokyo. The housing is still more expensive than most anything Zabuza had encountered yet, though he thought it a good investment. Now the only thing to do is go off to the new school. Through the years, Haku had become more and more sure of himself. It didn’t matter what gossip was said, as long as he was comfortable in his own skin. Surely he’d find some friends that would agree with him in this new school. The entrance exam was a bit tough, though somehow he’d managed to pass through well enough to enter in.
No big surprise

What makes your character (or interpretation of the character) unique, original, and worth having on the site? Who doesn’t love this guy (and I use that term verrrry loosely)? Haku doesn’t get the attention he so rightfully deserves. Seriously. And what’s high school without the androgynous guy to spice things up a bit? If anything, he’s here to make the girls feel slightly insecure about themselves (how is it he looks better in that dress than I do!?).
Role Play Sample
“Why is there…” Haku paused, his eyes glued to the new bottle of toothpaste, “Why is there a HAIR stuck on the toothpaste!?” Holding back the urge to puke, Haku pulled off the lone strand of hair and thoroughly washed the excess paste off the bottle. What a dreadfully horrid way to start the morning. Haku continued on with his morning routine, trying to get over the disgusting encounter with the hair and the toothpaste. It doesn’t matter how late it was Zabuza brushed his teeth; he should at least have enough common sense to keep his hair from the minty paste A deep sigh came from the beautiful young man. He couldn’t stay mad at his guardian, even for something as nasty as this.
Haku left the bathroom and wandered over to his overflowing closet. He knew exactly what he’d wear today. The sun was shining bright, the weather was a perfect 82, and there would be no wind according to the (slightly attractive) weather man. Pink polka dots? No. Orange kimono? Nu-uh. Purple strapless? No. Found it! The young man’s gaze wandered over to his favorite dress. The special one he knew would look ever so fabulous today. The light pink that was accented ever so well with the purple spiral always looked nice on days like today. And, since today was a Sunday, he could wear it all day while he lost himself in the park (today he had the day off). An hour went by as he dolled himself up for the outing. Yeah, it wasn’t that exciting, though the park was pretty enough. Not to mention it had a variety of flowers and little bunnies he could play with. “I’ll be back later, Zabuza~” he called silently, not wanting to wake the man up. One thing Haku learned well was that if Zabuza didn’t get his rest, all hell would break loose. He was a demon when he didn’t get at least seven hours. Haku’s sandals clacked against the floor as he quietly made his way down the stairs and out the front entrance. The sun greeted the young man with a few extra rays of light, signaling that it would be a wonderful day. He quickly adjusted the small, empty basket he wore on his shoulder, musing to himself. “Today I’ll find some more flowers and have so much fun~”
He trotted through the neighborhood, ignoring the sirens, shady-looking characters, avoiding the dark alleys, and paid no mind to the stares that he received. Through the streets of this dark, shady neighborhood, he was the extra ray of sunshine. While everyone else wore those drab shades of black, white, and gray, he livened it up with pastels and the like. Nothing was friendlier, after all, than a nice smile and a beautiful dress. After about a half hour of passing by strangers on the street, Haku found his way to the park, with all it’s different colors. It was almost like a separate entity from the rest of the drab city with the grass, flowers, small animals, benches, and play area.
Haku’s eyes wandered throughout the green field, his face livening up as he did so. He followed the small pathway, greeting a few small children, two mothers, and a man bringing his dog on a morning walk. “How nice the park is” he couldn’t help but muse to himself as he strayed away from the path, heading off for a small patch of yellow flowers. The brightness of the flowers seemed to beckon to him, almost like they begged to be picked. Haku sat down next to the flowers, fixing the small wrinkles that formed. A small bird chirped overhead, singing a beautiful song. Haku smiled, making sure to stay perfectly still. If he stayed still enough…
“Oh, the bird. THE BIRD!!!” Haku smiled, watching the bird land next to his arm. The small twitches of its head amused him ever so much. A small gust of wind blew through, brushing against Haku’s hair. The bird chirped once more, a farewell, before flying away.
Password Is it still hufflepuff? Oh GOD, tell me it’s still hufflepuff. I went to check and got distracted and am now too lazy to check again. D: Well, anyways, Slytherin is better, or so says I. Yeah, I went there.
But please believe
