So, I'd like to think I tried really hard on this... but it's early in the morning (kinda) so... Also, my hands are freezing cold (it's, like 50 degrees, here) so my hands were kinda shaky when I drew this. But enough excuses! I think it turned out pretty well... tell me what you think ~
NOTE: i tried to scale down the picture so i could put it straight into the thread without stretching the page, but i couldn't remember how to do that without using an image-manipulation program, which i was too lazy to open. so, yeah, i just put in direct links to the drawings ~ enjoy !
THE LINE-ART - [ CLICK
] y'know, just in case anyone else wants to color it or something (i'm totally open to that ^_^) DRAWING ONE - [ CLICK ] this one i didn't color the highlight in his hair, because i wasn't sure what it would look like or if it would mess the picture up. DRAWING TWO - [ CLICK ] this is the same as drawing one, but the highlight in ryou's hair is colored in. it looks pretty awesome both ways, so... yeah, not a huge difference... it mostly depends on whether you like the hair with a strong highlight, or a slightly duller one. Thank you! Great job, and I love 'em. Definitely better than I can do. I especially love the way you colored his eyes. Very puppy-ish. :)

Thanks... though the shading lightened a lot... especially in the skin... so the drawing looks kinda, er, flat =[

It does, but it still doesn't take much away from it, I don't think. I might be able to fix that on Gimp (make the colors more vivid and the image a little darker), but it's been slowing down my computer a lot lately...

What kind of scanner do you use?
I find myself having the very same problem, but in my scanner settings I've found a way to preemptively fix it so it doesn't need to me messed around with in Gimp later.

Gimp's amazing (and free!). I'm gonna attempt to bring out the color in it, if that's alright...? Edit:Clicky. It turns out there were patches of the skin that were very, very light, and the scanner didn't pick up the color, so they look like bright patches. I couldn't do much with the skin because of that. The hair and shirt are darker and more vivid, though it's not terribly different from the original. :3

Off-topic, but I used GIMP to make the site's banner. ;P I love it so; the program I mean. It's easier to use than Photoshop and much less expensive lol.
