Physical Appearance
Strutting his stuff at 5'5, Mr. Akimichi weighs a rather hefty one hundred and sixty pounds. Most would debate about his stature (most calling him fat), but he would cordially like to intervene and say that he's just pleasantly plump. With a mane of long brown hair that skims his lower back and matching eyes, Choji is rather plain-looking, but it's his kind personality that makes up for what he lacks in appearance. Identical swirls are located upon the apples of his cheeks, but don't ask him where they came from; they are a family trait-mark. He's never seen without a smile of some sort upon his face, whether or not it be friendly or lethal.
Personality
Truly, Choji is a one-of-a-kind-kind-of-person. Never would he rat out a friend, even if it meant receiving a harsh punishment from a teacher or his own parents. He is loyal to the core, as shown by how many times he had taken up for something that he didn't do. Typically, Choji is just a big bundle of sunshine, unless someone makes fun of his weight. Then and only then will his temper flare, the happy teenager morphing into someone almost unrecognizable. The word 'fat' is a taboo around the pudgy teen, for it almost promises you a trip to the hospital and several bills about repairing broken glass and furniture. Despite his violent temper, Mr. Akimichi wouldn't hurt a fly and is typically seen with a bright, happy smile on the corners of his cute, pudgy cheeks. When it comes to school, Choji isn't the best of student, but he sincerely tries his hardest to get better, sometimes throwing people off guard by how well he does. Choji is very family-oriented and can often be seen helping his mother prepare dinner after school for his work-weary father.
Strengths
- Friendly: To almost everyone, that is. Choji believes in being as nice as he can be, especially if he is just getting to know someone. Don't be surprised if, during the middle of class, he turns around to give you a small smile and greeting. Making new friends is something that Mr. Akimichi loves, especially if they get along with his all group.
- Loyal: It's almost shocking how much Choji will do to go out of his way to help a friend in need. Should there be someone in distress, Choji is almost always the first one to lend a helping hand, even if he manages to screw it up somehow.
- Imaginative And what a wild imagination he has. Whether he be deciding what recipes he he wants to try out after school down to the doodling on the sides of his notebook, it's no question that Choji comes up with some interesting ideas, even if they are a bit strange sometimes.
Flaws
- Inactivity: Laying around, looking at the shapeless clouds and munching on chips is exactly Choji's idea of a good time. Exercise (and gym class) isn't up his alley, and he would rather skip out on both of them.
- Rule-Breaker: Before meeting his friends, Choji used to be a very good, rule-abiding student. Upon meeting figures such as Kiba and Naruto, Choji was slowly introduced to class-skipping and other shenanigans that rounded him into a rather daring individual.
- Academically Challenged: While a lot of kids only struggle with school because of procrastination, Choji genuinely has difficulty understand and grasping different concepts. Many times he has requested help of his smarter friends to explain even the simplest of math terms. This disadvantage is rather annoying, but Choji does his best to manage it as he sees fit.
Drink? Only if his other friends are drinking.
Smoke? Choji doesn't believe in ruining lungs.
Drive? While he may have a license, Mr. Akimichi doesn't have a car, sadly.
Drugs? Nope.
Partying? Well, of course! It just depends on if people invite him or not.
Family
Akimichi Choza (father): If the saying 'the apple doesn't fall far from the tree' was ever applicable, it would perfectly describe the relationship between Choji and his father. Both men are extremely alike, thus leading Choji to bring his problems and issues to his father. Choji depends on his father's wise words and advice, even if it is a bit far-fetched sometimes. Their bond as father and son is extremely strong, especially since Choza is often at work until later on in the evening.
Akimichi Chiharu (mother): Even though Choji confides in his father more, he is definitely a true mother's boy at heart. Everyday after school the two will talk, often during the times when they are preparing family dinner for that night. Chiharu's kindness rubs off on Choji more than he realizes, which is where he gets his rather caring nature from.
Residence A nice, cozy apartment right in the middle class of town. Anything larger for the family of three just isn't necessary.
History
For years upon years of trying, Chiharu was unable to bear a child, much to Choza and her own dismay. Finally, one day, Chiharu noticed that the forces of mother nature did not afflict her and quickly proceeded to see a doctor. Joyful at the news that she had finally conceived a child, Chiharu rushed home to tell her husband, who was more than just a little ecstatic. For months and months the two of them planned, painting the nursery and buying different clothes for their baby. They both decided to leave the gender a mystery until their miracle date. Finally, it happened. A beautiful baby boy was born, and he was given the name Choji. The Akimichi family couldn't be anymore thrilled.
At the tender age of five, Choji was a happy, plump, little bundle of sunshine. However, the rest of the children in the playground wanted nothing to do with him, considering his weight a disadvantage. Every time Choji attempted to play with the rest of the children, he was teased and taunted no matter what he said. Finally, one day, a boy by the name of Shikamaru befriended him, saying he didn't really care for the games the rest of the children seemed so fond of. Later the two learned that their fathers were friends. In a sense, Choji believed that Shikamaru saved him from going down a road that would, in the future, lead to a destructive life-style. It was from there that Choji met his other childhood friend, Yamanaka Ino. Together, the three had been rather inseparable.
Through Shikamaru, Choji met and befriended the rest of the people inside of his inner circle. First it was Naruto, the loud blond-haired kid that most people seemed to initially reject. Unlike the majority of the people, Choji was rather fond of Naruto, even if he did mention the f word on more than one several occasions. Kiba was next, and by middle school, Choji found himself surrounded by a rather large set group of friends. He couldn't have been happier whenever he was with them. They made him a better, kinder, more outgoing person. His parents were very grateful for the positive influences in Choji's life.
During High school, nothing much changed. In a way, it was just like elementary school, just with nicer uniforms and more homework. Choji's academic struggle continued on, but he often found himself seeking help from either Shikamaru, or Ino. Half of the time the blond-haired girl was more willing to explain that his best friend, but it didn't matter to Choji all that much. Choji is just living the life of an average, teenager in high school.

What makes your character (or interpretation of the character) unique, original, and worth having on the site?
Well, no one really gives Choji a lot of love, and I decided that I could be a great candidate (I sound conceited here, lawls) for doing so! He has a kind heart, but is rather eccentric at the same time. I kind of wanted to portray that and I hope it comes off in this application. Besides, who doesn't love Choji? He seriously needs more fangirls.
Role Play Sample
The roar coming from the sea of people was a bit distracting, if one Akimichi Choji was being completely honest. Seated upon the brightly colored plastic seat, pudgy cheek cupped in his hand, he scanned the people animatedly talking to one another. Inside of his mind he was creating images of different scenarios, vivid scenes of students and their interactions. People watching had become a habit, but only when he was alone. Sighing, the long-haired teen glanced down at the watch adorning his wrist and blew some air from in between his lips, pondering on what was taking Shikamaru and the rest of his friends so long to reach lunch.
"If they don't hurry up, I don't know if I can wait for them any longer," complained Choji, warm, brown eyes settling on the large bento-box his mother had packed for his lunch. He had been taught that it was simply rude to eat before everyone was was settled and ready, but the noise of protest from his stomach had him thinking otherwise. The others wouldn't care, even if Choji would be thinking about it in the back of his subconscious. Shrugging his shoulders, his round fingers popped the lid off and slid out his chopsticks, drool practically running down the corners of his mouth due to the delicious smell.
He had to learn how to cook like his mother.
Digging his chopsticks into the flavored rice, Choji couldn't help but take a slow, tentative bite at first, savoring the different combinations of spices rolling around his tongue. Swallowing, the plump teen allowed a grin to cross his face as he dug into the bento box, food debris practically flying in his wake. The motto to 'savor your food' was completely lost on Choji, except for when it came to the last chip. The mere idea of it was almost enough to make Choji stand up and buy some chips from the cafeteria, but he decided against it. He had plenty to eat in his rather
Even if his friends wanted some of his food, Choji would not allow them a single bite. In fact, the young Akimichi could act very territorial over a single slice of bread; it was just in his nature.
