And One Day What's Lost Can Be Found
{You Stand in the Rain}
Physical Appearance Sakura is a rather petite young woman, only coming to the mere height of 5'2. Despite this, her short stature is not her first trait that people notice. Her hair is bright, bubblegum pink that just kisses the blades of her shoulders. Wide, jade green eyes which almost gave off an innocent vibe were coated with long, thick eyelashes. With her peachy-complexion, Miss Haruno is a rather odd looking girl, but somehow all of her features blend together rather nicely, except for one. Oh, that blasted, wide forehead of hers! How Sakura simply wishes she could eliminate said attribute from her body, entirely. However, its size makes her who is she, and Sakura has learned to accept it with confidence, unless someone pokes fun at its broad surface. Her figure, while it isn't the most curvy, still has a few advantages here and there, but not enough to be overly noticeable.
Personality Armed with a fist of fury and a rather sharp tongue, Haruno Sakura isn't scared to speak her mind or share her opinions with other people. Her fiery temper is easily provoked and, when it is, it would be best to simply steer clear of her way. If one were to insult the rather large forehead of hers, they better watch their backs; that is her most sensitive subject. Even though she might seem rather unapproachable, Sakura is best known for being unfathomably kind-hearted. Should someone need assistance with anything, Sakura is typically the first one to step up and offer her help. On top of this balance of emotions, she is also smart, as seeing she wishes to become a world-renown doctor some day. When it comes to studies, she can buckle down like no other and don't even think about disturbing her lest you wish to leave the room with an angry red mark across your face and a sweet smile from the perpetrator. Several things make her cheeks bloom with bright red: sexual jokes, embarrassing stories, and one Uchiha Sasuke. Then again, what girl doesn't have a crush on the boy? However, Sakura often keeps herself hushed over this manner but chooses to act friendly to him all the same. Despite being called "cute" or even "pretty" Sakura is often modest and conservative with both her appearance and temperament. For the most part, Haruno Sakura is just an average girl trying to live her life to its fullest potential.
Strengths
Grounded: Playing by the rules gives you the better chance of not getting hurt, at least to Sakura Haruno. She has her feet firmly planted on solid surface and knows that is where they belong. Not to say she doesn't know how to have fun, but Sakura knows when to buckle down and get serious. Even for her age she is rather mature, thanks to her goals and ambitions.
Empathetic: Understanding--or trying to, at least--people and their emotions is one of the things Sakura tries to do the best. How can two personalities mix and blend unless they don't have a firm grip on how the other is feeling? She will do her best to relate to anyone, should the situation or friendship call for it.
Fun-loving: Just because she likes to memorize things at least three times through doesn't mean Miss Haruno can't party like the best of them. She knows when to loosen up and have fun, and can even be spotted influencing others to follow along in her merriment. She likes to have fun and cut free every once in a while, so don't be shocked when she breaks free from her studies to join others at a party.
Flaws
Temper: And, oh boy, does Haruno Sakura have a massive one. Provoke her and she'll connect her fist to your cheek before you can even blink; she's often told that she has a killer right hook. Insult her friends, and you'll be dealing with an even bigger punishment from this petite girl. While she might not yell, her words are enough to slice like daggers and leave scars on your skin. Don't believe it? Attempt to ruffle her feathers and see for yourself.
Assumption: You know that one phrase that most people hate to hear? Well, Sakura is guilty of this quite frequently, only by means of taking things for granted. Her family, her house, and her possessions don't ever phase her for she never stops to consider that there could be someone else out there who wouldn't have those things. Putting words into other people's mouths is also a bad habit of hers, no matter how much she'll deny that she does.
Hard-Headed: Even if you drag the horse by the reigns, you simply cannot force him to drink--the same could be said about Haruno Sakura. Once her mind is made up there isn't anything that can be done or said to change it. She is a firm believer in her opinions and won't sway to the ideas of others if her mind is set. If she says she will think about going up against a situation in a way that is not her own, she will often take her own advice, even if the outcome is horrible.
Drink? Tried it, and decided it wasn't her thing.
Smoke? Considering Sakura wishes to become a doctor, the answer is definitely no.
Drive? Not yet, sadly.
Drugs? Never.
Partying? Of course! Sakura knows when to let loose and have some fun.
Family
Haruno Saito: Father; Sakura's relationship with her father is the classic 'Daddy's-Little-Girl' story. Whenever the pinkette has a problem or an issue, her father is typically the first one to know and deal with it. Standing around 5'11, [Insert Name] Haruno is best known for his hearty laugh and cheery disposition.
Haruno Ume: Mother; Sakura's relationship with her mom is rather strained, due to the matron's idea that her daughter isn't quite ready to be heading off into medical school. Still, they have a healthy mother-daughter bond, and she is clearly the more level-headed parent out of the two. [Insert Name] is rather baffled by Sakura's hair color, however, considering no one in her family or her husbands have ever had pink hair.
Residence The Haruno family lives in a nice, quiet little suburb that is mostly settled in by family-oriented people. Its location is in the higher middle class, due to Mr. and Mrs. Haruno's dedicated passions to their jobs and employment.
History A soft cry filled the hospital's demure hallways on March 28th, 1993, signaling that there had been new life to this world. Ume Haruno was exhausted after such a long birthing process, but couldn't help but allow a smile to touch the corners of her mouth as her eyes tenderly gazed upon her tiny, sleeping daughter. Next to her, Saito Haruno beamed, large hand coming to rest upon her sweaty shoulder in a comforting manner. Everything about their was precious, even that tuft of pink lining the top of her small head. Ume knew her daughter would be special, just from the oddity of her hair color, and vowed to always protect her from harm.
At the age of five, Haruno Sakura was often mocked and belittled due to her wide forehead. Her self-esteem was as low as could be, even at her young age. That changed when Yamanaka Ino stood up for her, defending the size of her brow and telling her to embrace it because it made her unique. From that day on Sakura always wore a thin, red headband in her hair, showing off her forehead and all of it's glory.
The first time Sakura stepped foot on a playground was at the age of seven, with Ino right by her side. It was there she learned all about Uchiha Sasuke, the "coolest" kid their age. Of course it was only natural for Sakura to develop her first puppy crush. Little did she know that it would affect how she treated people around her.
By the time middle school rolled around, it was almost like Haruno Sakura was gone. The sweet, innocent girl who hid behind her long, pink bangs was almost nonexistent, much to her parent's dismay. It was at this age that she broke off her ties with Ino, declaring them "rivals in love" for Uchiha Sasuke's heart. The more Sasuke rejected her, the more fake Sakura had become until it came to a point where her mother and father sat her down to give her a reality check. Just like that, Sakura knew that she had taken her crush on a boy way too far by hurting innocent people, such as Ino and Uzumaki Naruto. To signal her change in attitude, Sakura pleaded with her mother to drive her to the nearest salon where she proceeded to cut off her long hair which she had grown out for some ridiculous rumor about Sasuke liking it. Now with newly cropped hair and an enlightened attitude, Sakura returned to her last day of middle school as a completely changed person.
During high school, Sakura made sure to mend all of her ties that she had broke, especially the one with Ino. Furthermore, she began treating Naruto how he should be treated, even going as far as to call him a good friend, although you might have to twist her arm to get her to admit that one. Her studies became her top priority and she began looking up to women such as Senju Tsunade, a highly influential doctor. Her crush on Sasuke remained, although the pink-haired girl was much better about keeping it in line and not letting it affect other people or her personality.
So Stand in the Rain

What makes your character (or interpretation of the character) unique, original, and worth having on the site?
When most people say Sakura others will just wrinkle their noses and complain about how aggravating she is or simply how is she weak. However, I find Sakura to be that 'diamond in the rough' character that people simply overlook just because she doesn't receive the development that she should. She is truly one of the most human, down-to-earth characters in the entire series to me, and I honestly have no problems or issues relating to her. She has a big heart and is compassionate and loyal, despite knowing how to kick some serious butt. Sakura tries her hardest to be up to par with her teammates, and she has rather honorable intentions (although some might argue with me there). All in all, I love Haruno Sakura because she never tries to be something she isn't, and strays away from those stereotypical heroines.
Role Play Sample
She was never one to get lost, to get so completely wrapped up in her head that she zoned out, in her own thoughts. However, as her sensei continued to drone on, his monotone voice buzzing around like flies and creating a noise similar to buzzing against her sensitive eardrum, one Haruno Sakura couldn't help but allow a singular sigh to pass through her pale, half-parted lips. With her elbow resting against the smooth, wooden surface of her desk and her rosy cheek cupped softly into the palm of her hand, the pinkette in question held a look of sheer boredom. Almost lazily she allowed her verdant gaze to trail to the window, drinking it and the outside world in with newly found fascination.
Honestly, anything was more entertaining than the man who was standing before her, teaching her about a useless subject that wouldn't be applicable in the real world.
Taking the half-chewed pencil—a horrid habit she had to learn to quit—out from its resting holder, Sakura softly balanced it out upon her fingers, said object teetering back and forth, two and fro. The rhythm of the quiet 'tap tap' against her thin digit was highly amusing, until someone cleared their throat right in front of her. Whatever daze or spell she had been under lifted as Sakura stared back into the beady-eyed glare of her sensei who was towering over her, textbook still gripped tightly in his hand as he held it against his chest.
“Something else more interesting than my lecture, Miss Haruno?” The class around her grew silent as twenty pairs of eyes landed upon her reddening form. Why did misfortune always have to come to her?It wasn't often she zoned out, but of course she would be caught in the act red handed the only time she chose to.
Shifting nervously and placing her writing instrument back upon the maple wood of her desk, Sakura felt her face heat up with a bright red color, staining the apples of her cheeks and the tips of her ears; she was thankful that she chose not to wear a ponytail today. Lifting her head more confidently, the pink-haired girl only offered her annoyed teacher a sheepish smile and head nod, “No, sensei, I'm sorry. I'll pay more attention next time, I promise.” That seemed to be the answer he was looking for as he nodded, taking his position back against his podium and picking up where he left off.
Perhaps Sakura should consider acting, for rehearsing the right answer was always something she was exceptionally gifted in.
