RIN TASHIOTO
{And who do you think you are
Running 'round leaving scars
Collecting your jar of hearts
And tearing love apart
You're gonna catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
So don't come back for me
Who do you think you are}

Physical Appearance
Rin is the type of girl who looks younger than she seems. 4’10” in height, she is probably one of the most shortest sixteen year olds anyone would ever see. She weighs 110 pounds, meaning she isn’t skinny but she isn’t fat either. Somewhere nicely in between, which is good in her opinion. She has dark brown hair, which is long and straight. It normally cascades down her mid-back. Her bangs slightly cover her eyes in a sweet, unique way. Moving to her eyes, they are a normal oval shape with full eyelashes. They are brown, maybe classified as hazel. Her skin is not a sickly pale, but she does have pretty fair skin. Her arms and legs are average length, but they do show signs of at least some muscle. She normally keeps her finger nails short, but long enough to paint them. Rin’s shoe size is around a 5-5 ½. She is ‘developed’ in her chest area, but not enough to make it ridiculous.
Personality
Rin is a sweet girl with a big heart. She doesn't normally judge people that she doesn't know, since it wasn't how she was raised. Rarely does she hold a grudge. Once a grudge is made it is very easy to break, but a person has to get her to trust them. Which will, as said before, will be fairly easy due to her being very trustful.
When around people she knows, she is outgoing and talkative. Normally, she can be found making a joke of herself just to make her friends laugh. It makes her happy when her friends are happy. If they are upset, she will do anything in her power to cheer them up, even if she embarresses herself in order to do so.
Rin is shy and timid around people she doesn't know or just met. She doesn't speak much when around strangers but when she is, she stutters. However, she does at least try to become friends with other people. Sometimes it just doesn't work out and she ends up giving up, which slightly upsets her.
When around people she doesn't particularly like, she doesn't speak to them. Unless she actually has to interact, she completely ignores them. This is also the case if her friends are actually buddies with people she doesn't like to be around. She talks to just her friends, which can often cause a rift between her friends and herself.
Rin enjoys singing, making it her life goal to become famous. One day, she wants to start a band and perform in places. The only problem is that she has only taken voice lessons, not anything that could help her play an actual instrument.
She also enjoys reading book series and novels. Mostly she reads mysteries, romance, horror, fantasy, and poetry. Her favorite book being Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, meaning she likes the old and classical authors and poets more than the newer ones.
She dislikes doing school work, but does it anyway since she absolutely has to. She normally does well in her classes, except math, that is. That is her lowest and most hated class. Rin has trouble in it, more so than she should.
Her one fear is being hurt again by a man she loves. She is terrified she will be betrayed. Thus, meaning she has slight commitment issues. Rin sometimes feels as if men are nothing but cheaters and liars, but she knows there are tons of guys that aren't like that. It is just she really doesn't want to get hurt again by a man, so she may reject any and all offers of being a couple. That is, until the right man comes along that treats her right and sweeps her off her feet. Which is a wish she has for the future.
Strengths
Singing: She is a really good singer. She has the natural talent but ever since she has taken voice lessons, her singing has improved.
Academic: She may not like school, but she works hard and is academically strong. She works hard, meaning she is normally one to be on the A/B Honor Role.
Kind-Hearted: She is a kind-hearted person, which shines a lot. This is where she is the strongest. Though, it may seem hard sometimes to be kind to strangers. She still does what she can to treat people respectfully and equally.
Respectful: She shows respect for adults and children older than her. She tries not to talk out of line.
Flaws
Naive: She is naive when it comes to people. She can easily get hurt by people just as much as she makes friends. She is too trustful with others, that is mostly her problem.
Clingy: She can seem to be very clingy with her friends at times. This is due to her always wanting to have someone to talk to that she trusts.
Commitment: She isn't one to have a relationship to quickly. This is due to past events that has made her terrified of having a commited relationship with others. Maybe it will change once 'Mr. Right' comes along and sweeps her off her feet.
Addicted to Pocky: Pocky. Pocky. Pocky. This is her most favorite food and her food obsession. There will not be a time where a person won't see a piece of chocolate flavored Pocky in her mouth.
Overly Emotional: If she is made fun of or critisized, she can get overly emotional. She will run off and pretty much sob until she feels better.
Lack of Faith: She doesn't have any faith in herself what so ever. She doesn't really believe in herself as much as she should and will often give on things she feels like she can't accomplish.
Nervousness: When around strangers, she can be quite nervous. Though she is normally timid around new acquantences, she can get really nervous if it turns into an awkward situation.
Stuttery: She stutters around people she doesn't know. However, she is respectful using the formal 'chan', 'san', 'kun' etc honorifics.
Scattered: She can get rather scattered when it comes to working on projects. Though she may finish some, Rin can also have too many and not finish the rest within a time limit.
Math Illiterate: Rin doesn't understand Math, thus making it her weakest subject in school. She understands things like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. But when it comes to fractions, decimals, and percents she seems to fail.
Neat Freak: This is actually an OCD of hers. She hates dirty or unorganized places. If she find that something around her is dirty or unorganized, Rin starts cleaning/organizing it. If a person looks into her locker, they can see how she keeps things super organized.
Drink?
No, she doesn't drink. Rin thinks it is kind of disgusting when people around her have alcohol breath, but she also doesn't want to have hangovers.
Smoke?
This is another no for her. Since smoking could ruin her singing voice, she doesn't do it. She would rather keep her voice the way it is. Also, she hates it when people smoke around her, it is alway hard for her to breath when people smoke near her.
Drive?
She would rather wait until she graduates to learn how to drive, so this is a no as well. She finds walking much healthier or riding a bike.
Drugs?
Same as the drinking and smoking. Drugs will make her do weird things, so she tends to stay away from them. Besides, her only drug is Pocky. It already makes her do strange and awkward things.
Partying?
If it doesn't consist of drinking, smoking, or drug using, she likes to party. She enjoys a good night out with friends on the weekends, just as long as she isn't busy doing homework.
Family
Daichi Tashioto: This is Rin's father. They don't have a relationship with eachother at all. Rin doesn't like to talk about Daichi, because she is hurt about the fact that he was never there in her life. She also hates him for the way he treated her brother after Shiro told their father about him being homosexual.
Shiro 'Aimi' Tashioto (Legal Guardian): This is her brother. They have a strong and close relationship with eachother since they moved from their father's home to an Apartment across Tokyo.
Residence
They call their Apartment home. Since it is only the two of them, they find no reason to actually live in a house.
History
Daichi and Emiko Tashioto was a normal couple. They loved each other and their one year old son, but something else was happening. Emiko was having another child. Emiko were excited, to say the least. She was always wishing to have a daughter and now, she was going to get her wish. Daichi, however, wasn’t as ecstatic. He didn’t want a daughter, but he never told his wife that. Just sons, and nothing more. October 31st, nine months had past and Rin Ai Tashioto was born after hours of painful labor. The mother was so happy, but she had complications. During the night, Emiko sadly past away.
It upset Daichi to no end and he began to blame the small girl who really had no clue about what happened. Her father didn’t have anything to do with her but because he didn’t want to disrespect his late wife’s spirit, he took care of her. Feeding, changing diapers, and bathing was all he did for her. Afterwards, he would place her in her crib until she needed to be taken care of again. Rin’s brother, however, tried his best to help out with her. He played with her and sang to her. When Shiro was old enough, he would take her out of the crib and rock her to sleep. This is when their bond started.
As she grew up, Rin never got to see her father. The only man she ever had in her life was Shiro, who was starting to become overly protective of her. When they were old enough to go to school together, they normally stayed by each others side. Not in classes, since they were different grades but while walking to school and at lunch. After classes, Shiro would take Rin to the park so she could play and he could finish homework. They would walk home before their father got home from work and Shiro would fix something to eat. Rin remembered when he was trying to learn to cook when he was eight or so.
Once they reached middle school, Rin realized Shiro was actually a homosexual. They talked about it and one night during dinner, Shiro told their father. This infuriated him. Shiro made Rin go to her room where she stayed until the yelling stopped. Her first action was to venture out to find Shiro and make sure he was all right, which she did. Shiro was still in the kitchen with a bruise across his face and arms. Rin knew then that they somehow had to get out of there. They spent the next few years being ignored by their father. Rin felt so betrayed, but what could she do?
When Shiro turned seventeen and Rin turned sixteen, they moved across town. They started going to a different high school. At this point, Rin had gotten herself a boyfriend. They had been dating for a few month when he cheated on Rin. It was then she gained her fear of commitment. It has been a month or two since they have been at the school and they are happy as ever.
No big surprise

What makes your character (or interpretation of the character) unique, original, and worth having on the site?
Though she may have flaws, she could possibly be a best friend for anyone. All she wants in life is to be accepted and gain the friends that will help her over come obstacles that may come her way. This doesn't mean she won't obtain enemies along the way, but hopefully people who will help her in life.

Rin walked down the hall slowly, tired from everything that had happened from the night before. She had stayed up late studying which was the norm for her when it came to the subject she was studying. Math was the subject she was the weakest in. ‘I may understand it better if I would pay attention.’ she thought with a sigh. Shiro had tried to help her with the most recent assignment, but Rin knew she would probably fail it.
She reached her locker and started to put her things in it. ‘Math, Science, Lit., History…’ she listed in her head as she placed each and every book she didn’t need neatly in her locker. She had slight OCD when it came to organization and cleanliness. Which is why she was in the hallway of the school alone.
When Rin got up that morning, she noticed that her clothes weren’t organized how she had it. So she did what she normally would do, organize it again. Which only took about fifteen minutes, but then she noticed there was a stain on her school clothes. Which she washed them, taking another thirty to thirty-five minutes. ‘Stupid washer and dryer. We seriously need to get a new one.’ By the time she was dressed, she would have normally been walking to the school. Of course, being as it may and how certain events where falling on her like bricks, she had to eat a rather cold breakfast. Rin didn’t mind that, as long as she wasn’t two awfully late for school. After she had finished breakfast, she grabbed everything for school. Usually, she would be at the school, but no. Something else had to happen.
She had finally gotten to her bike, only to find that one of the tires were flat. Great, just what she needed. More bad luck. ‘It sucks, waking up to a perfectly normal day only for it to go all haywire.’ She got the air pump and started to pump some air in the tire of her bike. Taking a total of ten minutes, the time when she would be going into home room. Rin had finally finished refilling her tire and rode her bike, quickly, all the way to school.
And here she was now, late and probably get in trouble. “Today is just a day full of bad luck.” she said softly, sighing. ‘Maybe I should have just stayed home…’
